On April 14, 2021, the European Committee for Standardization (CEN) released a revised version of the toy safety standard EN 71-3: EN 71-3:2019+A1:2021 "Toy Safety-Part 3: Migration of Specific Elements".
This revision has updated the aluminum (Al) migration limit as follows:
The standard EN 71-3:2019+A1:2021 will be given the status of a national standard of CEN member states, and conflicting national standards will be replaced by the end of October 2021 at the latest. At present, the latest harmonized standard of the EU Toy Safety Directive 2009/48/EC is EN 71-3:2019, EN 71-3:2019+A1:2021 is expected to replace this standard and become a new harmonized standard.
Reminder
