Certification Introduction
The Wireless Charging Alliance (abbreviation: WPC Alliance) is a cooperative organization composed of multiple independent companies. The qi standard is an international standard established by WPC for compatible wireless charging stations. Mobile phones, cameras, remote controls and all electronic products bearing the qi logo will be compatible with all charging docks printed with the logo.
WPC Wireless Charging Alliance
In the current field of wireless charging for commercial mobile phones, the WPC Alliance's qi standard occupies an absolute advantage. As of August, 628 companies worldwide have joined qi members, including internationally renowned companies such as Apple, Samsung, LG, and Haier.
The "qi" logo belongs to the WPC Alliance. To use this logo on wireless charging products, you must first obtain the authorization of the WPC. If you use it without authorization, it will be punished by the WPC or face the removal of the product. In addition, after the qi certification of wireless charging products, all indicators meet the requirements of the qi standard, which is also a guarantee of the quality of the product itself. Consumers using products that have passed qi certification are obviously safer and more reliable than those that have not passed.
To apply for qi certification for a product, the company first needs to register as a WPC member and pay a membership fee. Members include small business members, ordinary members, fully qualified members and founding members. Different members pay different membership fees and different rights.
After the company applies to become a WPC member and pays the annual fee, it can apply for the authorization to use the "qi" logo, and send the company's corresponding documents to the qi headquarters. After the review is passed, the authorization can be obtained.
At the same time of obtaining authorization, 5 functioning prototypes can be prepared (select wireless charging solutions that can pass qi certification, such as NXP, Xuxinsheng, Lingyang, Yichong, etc.) and sent to WPC designated domestic certification laboratory, such as Anzheng , SGS, Presets, etc., then the solution company and customers fill in the corresponding product model, WPC member name and certification type. Certified products are divided into two types: BPP (Baseline Power Profile) and EPP (Extended Power Profile) according to the load power. BPP covers products with output power less than or equal to 5W, and EPP includes products with more than 5W up to 30W. After that, the test fee is paid. The domestic certification laboratory BPP certification fee is generally between 25,000 and 30,000 yuan, and the EPP certification fee is about 150,000 yuan.
QI test content
1. Compliance test
ATL (Authorized Test Lab), currently has many choices in China, at least one of the 5 prototypes sent for testing will first be arranged for compliance testing, and the compliance test samples will remain after the test is passed ATL. The main test content includes:
A. The timing of the communication protocol between the transmitter and receiver;
B. Test the power output ability through the translation of XYZ axis;
C. Maximum supply capacity for energy transmission;
D, foreign object detection FOD (Foreign Object Detection)
2. Compatibility test
There are only two IOC (Interoperability Test Center) in the world, Belgium in Europe and South Korea in Asia.
After passing the compliance test, ATL will divide the other four units in the test sample into two groups and send them to laboratories in Belgium and South Korea for compatibility test projects. The two samples are left in the main IOC laboratory. Two remain in the auxiliary IOC laboratory. After the compatibility test is completed in the IOC laboratory, the inspector can perform the "confirm completion" action on the official website. The product is included in the WPC official website. Enter the official website and enter the product ID number to query. The tested product will be retained. On the Test Bed.
According to WPC requirements, all test samples need to be tested for compatibility with all previously certified samples. For example, if the tested product is a wireless charging transmitter, then it needs to be done with all WPC-certified receivers (including mobile phones) Compatibility testing. According to the Qi test process, the tested product must be sent for compatibility test after the compliance test is passed. If the compatibility test fails, the sample needs to be taken back for rectification. After the rectification is completed, it cannot be sent directly to the compatibility test, but the compliance test and the compatibility test need to be tested again.
QI certification cycle
According to the normal test time calculation, if there are no failed items in the product to be tested, it will take 4-5 weeks to pass all the test items at one time, plus some turnaround time, etc., so the general certification cycle is 1.5-2 About months.
According to WPC data, taking November, the peak period of certification in 2017 as an example, a total of nearly 30% of the tested products failed the first compatibility test, and the EPP test samples failed to pass the first 61.5%, even the currently popular BPP test, still has a failure rate close to 20%.
Therefore, choosing the appropriate solution before product development is of great help for subsequent certification. Through continuous updating and optimization, the wireless charging solution of Xuxinsheng has greatly improved the pass rate of BPP certification.
BSCI certification is an abbreviation of BusinessSocialComplianceInitiative, and Chinese is called business social standard certification. BSCI is an organization that advocates the business community to abide by social responsibility. At the same time, it is a non-profit organization.
CMA, the name is \"China Metrology Accreditation\", the abbreviation of \"China Metrology Accreditation\" in English. According to the provisions of Article 22 of the Metrology Law of the People’s Republic of China: “The product quality inspection agency that provides notarized data to the society must be evaluated by the metrological administrative department of the people’s government at or above the provincial level for the capability and reliability of metrological verification and testing. Qualified.\"
Laboratory accreditation is a third-party certification that CNAS has the ability to perform specific testing and calibration work for testing and calibration laboratories.
