On December 22nd, 2023, CENELEC officially released the standard of general requirements for household and similar electrical appliances-safety-ENIEC 60335-1: 2023+A11: 2023; This standard covers the latest technical requirements of many household appliances.
On February 29th, 2024, the Commission of EU REACH voted to pass a proposal to restrict perfluorocaproic acid (PFHxA), its salts and related substances in Appendix XVII of REACH ((EC) No.1907/2006).
According to Document No.3 of CNCA in 2024, the testing method of China RoHS will be adjusted from the original testing standard GB/T 26125 to the series standard GB/T 39560. That is to say, from March 1, 2024, the new test standard GB/T 39560 series will replace the old test standard GB/T 26125.
On March 1st, 2024, ECHA launched a public consultation on two potential candidate substances for SVHC, including triphenyl phosphate and dicumyl peroxide. On February 9, 2024, the European Commission issued a draft regulation to amend (EU) No.10/2011 and (EC) No.1895/2005, replacing and repealing (EU) 2018/213；; The draft law prohibits the use of bisphenol A in food contact materials and products, and also regulates the use of other bisphenols and their derivatives. The draft law is currently under public consultation, and the deadline is March 8, 2024.
On January 18th, 2024, the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) published the final rules on the mandatory standard 16CFR part 1250 \"Safety of Children\'s Toys\" in the Federal Gazette, and approved the revised ASTM F963-23 as the mandatory toy safety standard. Unless CPSC receives important objections before February 20, 2024, it will take effect on April 20, 2024.
On January 23rd, 2024, ECHA listed the 30th batch of five substances in substances of very high concern (SVHC). At the same time, it updated the hazard types of dibutyl phthalate (DBP), which was listed in SVHC in October, 2008, and supplemented its endocrine disrupting characteristics to the environment. At this point, the REACH substances of very high concern list has officially increased to 240 items.
